Made a 1 night reservation by phone directly with owner Judith. She was very friendly and personal, providing nice details about her accommodation and restaurant. The location and surroundings were beautiful.||I was greeted out front by a staff member when I parked as I arrived way too early to check in. I was offered a meal after meeting the chef, then Judith came out to welcome me.|Will definitely return here.

I recently stayed at the Strawberry Inn, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. Upon entering our room, we were immediately put off by two things, the musty smell and the state of the beds. Both queen beds had filthy sheets that looked like they hadn’t been changed in ages. The mattresses were flat and sagging, giving the impression that they had been slept in many MANY times before. There was one other piece of furniture to sit on in the room a green chair in the corner, and it was covered in stains. I was so uncomfortable that I ended up sleeping in my car the first night, and by the second night, I had found alternative accommodations.

To add to the other less than pleasing features, there was a soap dispenser mounted on the wall that continuously leaked soap onto the floor. This not only made the bathroom look unkempt but also posed a slipping hazard. It was a small detail that really highlighted the lack of attention to cleanliness in the overall establishment.

On a positive note, the bartender on the ground floor was genuinely friendly and attentive, which was a nice respite from the otherwise disappointing stay. However, the bar area could get quite noisy late at night, making it difficult to unwind, which was easy to notice when sleeping in your car in the parking lot due to a nasty bed.

Additionally, the number of dogs running around the property was concerning. While some guests may appreciate the pet-friendly atmosphere, not all the dogs seemed particularly friendly, which added to the discomfort.

Overall, my stay at the Strawberry Inn was underwhelming. I was only in town for a wedding; otherwise, I wouldn't have even checked in to that nasty room in the first place. The inn needs significant improvements in cleanliness and maintenance to provide a welcoming environment.

Lovely Restaurant and Bar overlooking the creek. Eat outdoors and relax in the natural beauty of forest. There is no table service, so order your meal at the bar and help yourself. We didn't stay at the Inn but I am sure it's rustic and lovely as well.

Not only is the place beautiful but the hospitality was great. We had a warm welcoming upon our arrival. It felt like a second home because of the manager Fez. My husband and I wanted to thank you for making our vacation smooth sailing!

Awful customer service for okay food. I dont know what these people’s problem was, but they were completely rude and immature. We simply wanted to order a small cheese pizza, and after waiting 30 minutes, we saw the workers let another man take the pizza even though he said it wasn’t what he ordered. We then were told the pizza was in the oven, and waited another 30 minutes. When we ask what is going on, they snap at us and tell us that “if we had some common sense, we would know that it is very busy.” There was a good 10 people in there. The young lady mocked my two 14 year old daughters right in front of them, even though they were extremely polite and sweet.

If you like fancy things like a pool and a hot tub, that’s not for you. If you enjoy yourself being in a unique little place with character steps away from a creek, surrounded by beautiful nature, and close to Pinecreat lake, then you will find this to be a gem! Rooms are simple but have everything you need. Outside patios and dining areas are awesome. Staff is very nice. There is a small store right across the road, where they play live music on the weekends.
The hotel restaurant - do not recommend, sorry. Plus they are closed Monday and Tuesday so bring breakfast stuff as you won’t find a cafe nearby. For lunch and dinner , I went to Mia’s 🙂

The location of this hotel right on the river and a stones throw from all the stunning natural beauty this area has to offer can't be beat! It is also just across the street from the charming and convenient Strawberry General Store which is a definite plus. The hotel staff were friendly and the breakfast was tasty (although it was not included which in my opinion it defiantly should be especially for the high price of a room!). However, the overall feel of the place while generally clean, is run down and the rooms are quite basic and smell musty. The springs in the mattresses are loud and not too comfortable and the bathroom soap really smelled terrible. The decor of the hotel in general could use some definite updating, while still staying true to its Old Sierra charm. This would all be fine if the prices matched the basic accommodations. We paid $240 per night for a very simple room with 2 beds, and the old mattresses made it difficult to have a good night's sleep. This place really has a lot of potential, but until some changes are made we probably won't be staying here again.

This place has so much potential. I hope someone buys it and makes necessary improvements.

A. Rooms are outdated - the couch in our room felt like it had been used as a seat to interview the subjects of my 600 lb life on TLC. The bathroom had no vanity, tiles from the 90's and a shower head that was more like a kitchen sink faucet.

B. The food at the restaurant is okay. I don't understand why they only had one person working on a busy Saturday. They also charge a premium for grab and go atmosphere. Would it be too much to ask for a normal plate instead of everything on paper/plastic? Lots of waste! The poor bartender was doing her best and deserves some help from ownership.

C. I know this place is kid friendly, but groups of children roaming the hallways after 9:00 PM screaming and banging on the floors put a real damper on our stay.

For >$250/night I strongly recommend staying elsewhere. This inn is conveniently located, but not worth the premium. Maybe some day!
