Wonderful place. The staff were so accomodating for my table as I had a few meetings booked. Service was extremely quick for all orders. Super friendly and helpful. Coffees were great. My colleagues ordered some food and said it was great. Thank you again!

Located alongside the Belconnen lake and just outside the Westfield Belconnen Mall, Stella's by the Lake is a dog friendly cafe that offers everything coffees and smoothies through to cakes and muffins, and of course breakfast and lunch options.

As you would expect there are the usual toasts, granola, fritters and big breakfasts on the all day breakfast menu. Lunch options include burgers, toasted steak sandwiches, salads and more.

Interestingly there are a couple of items on the menu that "include yoghurt" and then say "with your choice of milk". Unless I'm missing something, yoghurt is dairy and then adding a non dairy milk kind of defeats the point of having non dairy milks. Jon diary yoghurts perhaps?

There is also a menu for your pets, so they don't miss out either.

Plenty of seating indoors and out, with tables for two and larger tables for groups.

Ignore the image of the half eaten Sicilian Toastie as I was in 2 minds whether to post this, but I was very disappointed with the amount of chips given for $4 extra.

Edit+Reply: I understand that portions had to be reduced but I still believe that $4 should get you more chips than what was offered. If this is the new serving size going forward then people should see that from this review. This was what I got on the day and others can decide if this is worth it.

I came for breakfast after taking the kid to soccer. We had no trouble getting a table inside at 9:30 on a Saturday morning, but it was filling up as we got there.

They are dog friendly which is always good and I'm looking for an excuse to walk the dogs back there.

The breakfast tacos were really good. I'd come back just for them TBH. Kids breakfast wasn't so great. They didn't love the pancakes. Coffee was good.

Price was fair for the location, quality etc etc and better than some other nearby places.

My dog, Hugo and I love going to Stellas by the Lake for brunch on the weekend! The food is delicious and they even have a dog menu! The staff are always so friendly and welcoming!

Great, light filled and spacious cafe with a comprehensive menu. Staff were attentive and obliging. We didn’t take a dog but we did take our 92 year old grandpa (who’s a tough critic). He loved it as did we. A little noisy but much better than many cafes. Food was delicious! Well worth the drive to the dark side (north Canberra) ?

I visited this cafe just a few minutes before closing, and despite the time, the staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. They made me feel welcome and didn’t rush me at all. The muffin I ordered was delicious, and my drink was made perfectly. I truly appreciated their warm service and attention to detail. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We were very disappointed with our breakfast this morning. We chose this cafe because of the 4.5 star rating. I think that it’s very popular with dog owners and that is the draw card. Our coffee tasted sour and the potato rosti tasted of oil that had fried fish previously. My poached egg had clear egg white oozing out and I asked for it to be cooked a little more. This was happily done. Good service in a lovely location. Just didn’t hit the mark for us.
