I absolutely love Vin de Table. It is one of the few businesses in the neighborhood where I have really connected with the staff who are always so kind, friendly and are genuinely interested in striking a conversation no matter how mundane. The wine selection of course is phenomenal. I highly recommend this little gem to anyone in the neighborhood. You won’t be disappointed.

I have never been in here and had a positive customer service experience. I believe it’s the same brunette with glasses who is so incredibly rude the moment you walk in. Incredibly condescending when I was taking a while to decide on a red wine and asked a question. Also when she rang me up, I asked for a bag and her response was: “they’re 5 cents… have you never been here”

i’ve been in a few times now, and the prices on the shelf are never consistant with what it rings up as. they don’t seem to be updating the info on the shelves, and it’s frustrating because you’re getting incorrect info on the wine itself as well as the price

This is by FAR the best wine store around. They have the best selection, great prices, friendly staff, and an awesome rewards program! I visit Brooklyn frequently from out of state and always come back to Vin de Table, regardless of what part of town I'm staying in. It's just that good!

I have been to Vin de Table several times and I typically have a good visit. I’ve found two of the female employees incredibly helpful but I am writing this review because on my visit tonight I met the owner.

I came in with my friend looking for a Cabernet Sauvignon, and when I asked for a recommendation the owner was incredibly rude and condescending. I admit that I mistakenly said that I was not seeking citrus but I clearly said that it was a smooth Cabernet Sauvignon that I was seeking. Regardless of my mistake, I do not believe that the arrogant response of “You mean acidic?!” was warranted.

The owner did recommend a wine; however, it is very much acidic. The wine was around $19 without tax, so I believe that the acidity was due to the fact that it was a natural, cheaper wine. I’ve found that smooth Sauvignon’s tend to be on the pricier side, but I believe it was deliberate act to not steer me in this direction.

I bought my wine and realized I wanted a wine stopper. When I asked where they were located, the owner told me I have a cork. I explained that was great, but I’d like a stopper. He pointed me in the direction of the stoppers and I leaned toward the one with the pump, which I have used in the past. He didn’t entertain the notion and instead told me they have the ones with a filter. I said that’s perfect because I don’t currently have a filter and I like them, to which he interrupted me by explaining why people typically use a filter for natural wines. An explanation I didn’t ask for and was stating that I didn’t need before I was interrupted.

I am in my mid-late 20s, a woman of color, and I was wearing a protective style. My friend is also a woman of color in her late 20s. My perceived age due to my natural hair, my mistake in wording, and my race made the owner believe that I was young, ignorant, and broke. Regardless of whether any of these things were true (which they are not), I believe that customers deserve a modicum of respect when patronizing a business. From here on out I will be solely taking my business to Bed-Vyne, a shop that actually respects its Black and Brown customers.

Also, the two stars were only given because of the amazing young women I have shopped with in the past.
