GAIL's Bakery on the High Street in Tunbridge Wells offers a charming and delicious experience for anyone looking for fresh, thoughtfully crafted bakery items. Upon entering, the inviting aroma of freshly baked bread, pastries, and cakes immediately sets a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The interior feels cozy yet modern, with friendly staff who are quick to help and seem genuinely passionate about the offerings.

Of all the delights, the standout for me was the Squash and Sage slice. The combination of flavors was spot-on, balancing the earthiness of the squash with the subtle, aromatic sage. The texture was delightful—flaky and buttery on the outside, yet soft and flavorful on the inside. This slice wasn't just satisfying; it felt like a celebration of seasonal ingredients done right, perfect for autumn or winter.

GAIL's is known for its commitment to quality, and this shines through in every item I tried. Whether it was the dense, chewy sourdough loaf or the delicate almond croissant, everything tasted fresh and of high quality. The bakery also offers a great selection of coffee, which pairs beautifully with any of their treats and makes it an ideal stop for breakfast, brunch, or a relaxed afternoon treat.

The only downside could be the busyness, especially during peak hours, which sometimes makes seating a challenge. However, the quality and variety of baked goods make it worth the wait. GAIL's Bakery in Tunbridge Wells is a gem, offering both locals and visitors a taste of artisanal baking at its best.

A very pleasant café-bakery offering a fair amount of seating inside. The popularity of this place means that there are often long queues to buy bread. As for the quality of the pastries and croissants, they are very tasty and come in different versions, sweet and salty. Coffee and tea are good, but nothing special. The bread is fresh and crunchy, I recommend the San Francisco Sourdough Bread. Prices are unfortunately very high.

Decent fare, with high prices, ruined by poor service. Witnessed the till man chatting away with a non-customer friend, ignoring the actual customer, only to then explain the shop was closed. It was literally at 6.30 on the dot, and after till server had spent at least 2 minutes yakking to his friend. Then made out the till was 'closed'. Stick to the independents. The high-quality, personal touch is long gone from this chain.

I have soft spot for Gail’s, especially their delicious bread and aromatically flavoursome Jasmin green tea.

The staff are very friendly and the energy was uplifting.

This was my go to Cafe while staying in Royal Tunbridge Wells.They have the best soya cap, delicious yummy hot sausage rolls and their baked eggs paired with their sour dough ? was amazing. Being away from home (SYD) I was very fortunate to have come across this place , They are very customer focus , and the staff are always friendly and helpful .

Upscale bakery chain located in the old high street, offering a selection of breads, savoury baked goods, cakes, sandwiches & filled rolls along with hot beverages... Nice place to grab a quick bite to eat with a good veggie option (my favourite go-to is the spinach and feta bake! ?)... All served by attentive and pleasant staff...

Nice and clean decor design. Got a jar of marmalade jam for souvenir; bought a brownie as it looked so delicious! It was very soft, creamy and chocolatey! Friendly service. The price is higher. Located at lovely downtown tunbridge wells.

We go to Gails TW quite often and really enjoy the coffee.
Food handlers in the preparation area do not wear food gloves or are seen to wash their hands on a regular basis. Handling mobile
phones and POS, working on different products, no hand washing. Scratching head then proceeds to handle the smoked salmon. Scary !
