There I was, 1st night ever in Fort Lauderdale, on a work trip; on idea where I’m going to have dinner. So I pulled out my phone & started looking (times are rough out here I tell ya ?) I like to try new things/places & settled here. Little did I know, I had just picked a spot where I would have one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. The food is just as delicious as the presentation of it. The cocktails make you never want to stop drinking them. And most importantly, the staff/service is outstanding & impeccably friendly (Thank you Sarah for everything! ?). Obviously, it was such a “terrible experience” that upon my return trip a few days later, I came back for a second round which only elevated my love for this spot. Can’t wait to visit again next time I’m in the area and to anyone just thinking about going here; Don’t Think, GO! ‍?

Refreshing Drinks and Flavorful Bites – A Perfect Lunch at Tap 42

I recently visited Tap 42 in Davie with my cousin, who was in town visiting, and I wanted to treat her to one of my favorite lunch spots in South Florida.

We started with drinks – both of us ordered the Passion Fruit Paloma, which had a perfect blend of sweet and tangy from the passionfruit and ruby red grapefruit juice, complemented by the smooth Cazadores Blanco. The tan rim added a fun salty kick that balanced the sweetness. We also tried the Strawberry Paloma, which was equally refreshing, with a delicious strawberry twist on the classic grapefruit flavor. The Olmeca Altos Blanco tequila gave it a nice, clean finish.

For the appetizer, I ordered the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, and wow, it was more filling than expected! The Korean-style marinated chicken was juicy and flavorful, with a sweet soy glaze that had the perfect balance of sweetness and umami. The butter lettuce cups were crisp and fresh, making the wraps light yet satisfying. I ended up having just the wraps for my meal because they were so good and filling.

For my entree, I took the Grilled Salmon Zen Bowl to go. It came with pan-fried brown rice, green veggie stir-fry, and a delectable truffle miso glaze that gave the dish a rich, savory depth. The toasted sesame added a nice crunch. I can’t wait to dig into it later!

My cousin went for the Flame Grilled Chicken Wings with fries. She loved the wings – perfectly grilled with a sweet and spicy BBQ sauce, complemented by the classic buffalo sauce. The blue cheese dressing was creamy and the veggies (celery and carrots) were a great touch.

The service was quick, and the atmosphere was laid-back, making it a great spot to hang out with friends for brunch, lunch, dinner, or happy hour. Definitely one of my go-to spots for a casual but delicious meal!

Noisy, energetic environment. Menu is American with Asian fusion vibes. Was very busy, and service was a bit slow. After the appetizers, it took a significant amount of time to get the attention of our server to order entrees. The charred corn guacamole was tasty, the spinach artichoke dip was a bit salty, the wings were properly cooked with three sauces. The tortilla chips that accompanied the guacamole and artichoke dip were crisp, tasty and not salty.

Entrees, a mixed bag. Portions are a decent size. The drunken goat burger was tasty, the bun needs to be changed...almost flaky, had little substance and actually detracted from the burger. The sweet potato fries were addictive. The battered fish and chips...so very disappointing. The fish behind the batter was tasteless and bland. The batter had no flavor to it. Chips were French fries that you could have gotten at any fast food establishment. The Rainbow bowl, a play on a typical sushi roll was perhaps the least interesting and in my opinion a flop. A bed of rice, two balls of rolled fish...salmon and tuna, a few slivers of avocado's and that was the meal. In no way appetizing and should absolutely be removed from the menu or reengineered to be more appetizing and presentable.

Manny ourcservercwas very pleasant but definitely stretched too thin by the time the evening weared on and the place became packed.

I would go for Happy Hour, would not go for dinner again.

I recently dined at Tap 42 in Davie and had an excellent experience, largely thanks to the exceptional service provided by Jasmine, our waitress. From the moment we sat down, Jasmine went above and beyond to make sure our meal was perfect. She was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made thoughtful recommendations that enhanced our dining experience. Her warm personality and genuine care for her customers really stood out.
We also had the pleasure of interacting with Frank, the assistant general manager, who was equally friendly and welcoming. His presence ensured the smooth operation of the restaurant and added to the overall enjoyable atmosphere.
The food, as always, was delicious, with fresh ingredients and creative flavors. The restaurant’s lively ambiance, coupled with the excellent service, makes Tap 42 a must-visit. I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning soon!

I understand why Tap 42 has grown so fast over the years. Love the vibes the decor and the overall experience this is a place that understands its guests and hits home runs constantly. 4 stars on the food only because of the Flys ? and hot air atmosphere. But I didn't care it was worth the time.

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Tap42 in Davie, Florida. To begin our meal, we ordered the calamari, which was exceptionally delicious. The accompanying sauce was flavorful, and the dipping sauce truly elevated the dish.

It was my first time enjoying a margarita served in a highball glass. The drink was expertly crafted with Don Julio Tequila. A toast to the skilled bartender!

I opted for the half rack of baby back ribs with fries. The fries were fresh, hot, and crispy, precisely to my liking.

My brother thoroughly enjoyed his cheeseburger and fries.

From the moment we stepped into the establishment, the atmosphere was vibrant and inviting. The hostess, our server Zach, the manager Frank, and the entire staff exuded warmth and hospitality. The music provided a lively ambiance without hindering conversation.

Nice design outside, though loud music blasting from speakers is surely not conducive for digestion. The server was friendly, attentive and did his best despite the food requests and quality. The food was disappointing. Chicken and waffles come with embedded granules of sugar. Though i requested no powdered sugar, the gritty sugar imbued in the batter would have dangerously escalated ones glucose level if ingested. I chose to keep the small requested grilled chicken breast and sweet potato fries rather than order another meal. Surely, it was not worth our $23.
My friend requested no cheese on his salad with honey mustard. The boiled eggs were poached like. His request was ignored.
The manager explained that eggs were pre boiled and could not be cooked beyond what was routinely served. She offered a fried egg instead. Once his redone order returned, my chicken and fries were almost finished. Apologetically, she explained why the long wait for a salad with fried chicken tenders and an egg took so long. She returned to offer dessert on the house.
My friend ordered a scoop of ice cream.
The manager checked again but never found her way back to instruct or update the waiter about her attempt to make amends.
The bill arrived. The salad was taken off. We were charged $23 for a chicken breast and fries, as well as for the promised complimentary dessert.

Food was amazing and I typically love tap 42 for their service and environment but on my last visit I was treated unfairly. After requesting to change seats because the music was excessively loud inside I was told "once you are seated you can't be moved, enjoy!".

Truly feel like the establishment should be able to accommodate for something so simple. We did not get to enjoy our meal at all and basically rushed out after we ate since it was very uncomfortable sitting near obnoxiously loud music.
